Spirit AeroSystems was established in 2005 when Onex Corporation acquired what is now Spirit AeroSystems from Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The company's headquarters are in Wichita, Kan., the Air Capital of the World, with additional operations in Tulsa and McAlester, Okla., Prestwick, Scotland, and Samlesbury, England.


Spirit Aerosystems owns six Loxin systems based on the tricept T9000 module. Four of these tricepts are installed in two strut drill cells. The system is based in a Loxin column type machine, where two of these tricept modules are put together to work cooperatively.

Reason for choosing Loxin / Tricept solution was:

  • Replace Peck with One Shot Drilling
  • Eliminate Rotation and Realigment of part during Drilling Process
  • Reduce Cycle Time
  • Improve Part Accuracy

This system has been in production for more than 3 years now.
